RCT (n=200) comparing parent-focused CBT vs education in children
(7-17 yr) with functional abdominal pain. Parent CBT reduced child pain
and disability at 6 months; benefits mediated by reduction in parental
solicitous responses. Demonstrates the parent as the active ingredient
in pediatric pain CBT.
