8-year longitudinal analysis (Project EAT cohort, n=1,491). Adolescents higher in intuitive eating showed lower 8-year rates of binge eating, chronic dieting, depressive symptoms, low self-esteem. Effects independent of baseline BMI. Among the strongest prospective data on intuitive eating as a protective factor in adolescent development.
