Outcomes, moderators, and mediators of empathic-emotion recognition training for complex conduct problems in childhood

RCT of standard parent-management training plus an empathy/emotion- recognition adaptation for children with conduct problems + CU traits. The augmentation produced larger improvements in conduct problems for the CU-positive subgroup compared to PMT alone. Demonstrates that CU+ children CAN respond to intervention, but treatment must target the empathy deficit directly - not just behaviour control.
