Individual and group based parenting programmes for improving psychosocial outcomes for maltreated children and their parents and the prevention of maltreatment

Cochrane review of parent programs in families with or at risk for maltreatment. Moderate evidence of improvement in parenting and child behaviour outcomes; less clear evidence of reduction in actual maltreatment events (limited by short follow-ups). Useful when discussing intersection between conduct-problem parent training and maltreatment prevention - they share content but the goals differ.
